Company Description
POS Children's and Young Adults' Education Fund is a charitable organisation linked to the Church of Ireland diocese of Dublin and Glendalough, dedicated to easing the financial burden on children who have lost one or both parents. By providing targeted grants for living costs, school fees, books, travel and clothing, the Fund helps eligible youngsters continue their education through secondary school and onto a primary degree, thereby minimising the disadvantage that can follow a parental death.
In addition to its historic roots in the Protestant Orphan Society (founded 1828), the Fund administers the Meath Trust, which extends support to non-orphan students attending secondary or third-level colleges, with a traditional focus on Dublin. Grants are allocated on the basis of need and are usually paid to parents, guardians or directly to educational providers. Referrals come from Church of Ireland, Presbyterian and Methodist clergy, school principals, bursars and Protestant Aid, ensuring that assistance reaches those who need it most.
Based in Dublin and serving the diocese of Dublin and Glendalough, POS Children's and Young Adults' Education Fund relies on invested capital, parish contributions and private donations, and welcomes bequests that secure its mission for future generations.
