Sea-PT Company Limited by Guarantee is a non-profit consortium that coordinates the region's response to oil pollution on the Shannon Estuary. Bringing together the Port Company, local authorities, offshore industry players and oil importers, the group maintains a ready-to-deploy stock of specialised spill-response equipment and delivers regular training and exercises to ensure a swift, unified reaction to any incident.

The consortium's expertise extends beyond hardware. It has developed a comprehensive oil-spill tracking model, a Geographic Information System, an Environmental Atlas, sensitivity studies, a regional response strategy, a hydrocarbon baseline study and detailed emergency response plans. These tools are continually updated by the member organisations, which include Shannon Airport, several county councils, Shannon Foynes Port, Valero, Rusal Aughinish and other key stakeholders.

Based in the Shannon region, Sea-PT provides the area's most robust coverage of equipment, technical knowledge and coordinated action, safeguarding the estuary's marine environment and supporting the interests of its diverse members.
