Tailteann Games Limited is reviving the ancient Tailteann Games as a cultural festival combining sport, community, culture and music. The event, scheduled for September 20th 2025 at Kells Priory in Kells, Co. Kilkenny, was postponed to summer 2026. The gathering draws on tradition, memory and mythology, featuring activities from stone lifting to storytelling, hurling to harp. The company describes the event as Ireland's greatest gathering being brought back to life, with the Irish phrase "Bígí Linn" (join us) used as an invitation. The festival aims to recreate the historic meeting place where clans competed, poets performed and marriages were made.
