Hugh’s House CLG

Hugh's House Company Limited by Guarantee is a charitable organisation that provides a warm, free-of-charge "home away from home" for families whose children are receiving treatment in Dublin's major paediatric hospitals. Situated just a stone's throw from Temple Street Children's Hospital in the north inner city, the house also serves families visiting The Rotunda, Holles Street and The Coombe, offering a safe, comfortable base at a time when many have travelled long distances from rural areas.

The house offers private bedrooms, shared kitchens, washing facilities, quiet corners for a breather and a lovely garden, all designed to ease the emotional and financial strain of a child's illness. Beyond the practical amenities, Hugh's House fosters a supportive community where families can rest, connect with one another and feel dignified rather than isolated.

Supported by volunteers, donors and corporate sponsors, Hugh's House invites the public to help keep the lights on and the kettle warm, ensuring that no parent has to sleep in a car or be turned away because they cannot afford accommodation in Dublin.
