Smile School Completion Programme Company Limited by Guarantee (SMILE SCP) is a not‑for‑profit organisation dedicated to supporting young people through the later years of secondary education. Drawing on a network of partner schools – most recently the two Urban DEIS Band 2 schools in Caherdavin and the neighbouring Christ the King and Mary Queen of Ireland schools – SMILE SCP delivers a suite of programmes designed to boost engagement, retention and personal development.
Key initiatives include the Ignite Programme, launched in 2009 and now running at Thomond Community College, which equips second‑year students with the skills and confidence to stay on the education pathway. The Transfer Programme offers creative, hands‑on projects such as mask‑making for sixth‑class pupils, while the Doodle Den Easter pack demonstrates the organisation’s commitment to recognising hard work and fostering a positive school culture.
