Green State Farms is a licensed producer group established by like-minded individuals to improve how farming operates in Ireland, to the benefit of Irish farmers, consumers and the wider community. Its founding members recognise the vital contribution of Irish family farms to rural sustainability, rural economies and the production of nutritious, safe food. The company’s stated purpose is to address systems issues that limit, restrict and inhibit Irish farmers, particularly the absence of effective primary producer management functions, which it says have been ceded to dominant processors and retailers post primary production. It provides professional management services to its members, including quality management systems (ISO-aligned), environmental management, sustainability management and health and safety, and actively develops markets and supply chain relationships to create a sustainable market environment for its members.
