Mater Dei Academy

Mater Dei Academy is a six-year, classical secondary school that offers a distinctive education rooted in the Christian faith and the pursuit of truth. From the first day of the junior cycle through the Leaving Certificate senior cycle, students experience a curriculum that intertwines the study of literature, history, philosophy, theology, the fine arts and the sciences, encouraging critical thinking and a dialogue between faith and reason.

The academy's small-class model-fewer than fifteen pupils per class-allows teachers to tailor lessons to each learner's needs, ensuring that both high achievers and those requiring additional support are fully challenged and nurtured. Academic rigour is measured against international standards, with junior-cycle assessments including the International GCSE, Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge and DELF, providing a solid foundation for senior-cycle examinations. In addition to academic excellence, the school places a strong emphasis on practical arts, choral and instrumental music, visual art, and public speaking, fostering well-rounded individuals.

Every aspect of life at Mater Dei Academy is permeated with the Christian ethos: the school day opens and closes with the Divine Office, weekly Mass is celebrated together, and monthly confession is offered, inviting students to live out a higher purpose in Christ while preparing for life beyond the classroom.
