EcoChip Energy Limited produces high-quality composted bark for use in growing media and peat-reduction applications. The product, EcoChip Composted Bark, is made from Irish bark sourced from FSC-certified forests and other controlled sources, and is composted to RHP standards to offer stability, structure and reliability for horticultural use. The company is committed to supporting the transition toward more sustainable growing media production in Ireland, offering an environmentally responsible alternative to raw peat. The bark is graded to deliver a stable, clean material with consistent particle size, low nutrient levels and natural durability. Its structure improves air-filled porosity within growing media, helping to prevent waterlogging while supporting strong root development and consistent plant growth. The composting project is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the EU Just Transition Fund Programme 2021-2027.
