The Employment Development and Information Centre (Longford) CLG

The Employment Development and Information (EDI) Centre (Longford) Company Limited by Guarantee is a community-focused organisation that has been strengthening Longford since 1999. It provides a welcoming space where residents can learn, grow and feel supported, whether they are looking for new skills, healthier lifestyle choices or a friendly place to meet.

The centre's diverse programme includes an award-winning 3R Store that gives items a second life through repair, reuse and up-cycling, flexible meeting and training rooms, and a Community Café that serves good food while supporting charitable causes. Health-focused initiatives such as a six-week nutrition and cookery course, community food and nutrition advice, and the "We Quit" smoking-cessation support help residents lead healthier lives. In addition, the EDI Centre offers secretarial services, CV and interview preparation, community employment placements and a range of self-paced courses designed to build confidence and open up new opportunities.

Backed by a dedicated team and a network of funders and collaborators, the EDI Centre remains a cornerstone of Longford Town, championing sustainability, creativity and positive change for everyone who walks through its doors.
