Irish Mathematical Trust

The Irish Mathematical Trust is the national organisation that runs the Irish Mathematical Olympiad (IrMO) and a suite of mathematics enrichment programmes for secondary-school students across the island. Through a network of enrichment centres at Maynooth University, University College Cork, University College Dublin, University of Limerick, Atlantic Technological University Sligo and University of Galway, the Trust offers challenging problem-solving experiences that go beyond the school syllabus, nurturing a love of mathematics and identifying the brightest pupils for further selection.

Key initiatives include the senior IrMO competition, which feeds a twelve-person squad to represent Ireland at the International Mathematical Olympiad, as well as junior maths enrichment centres launching in early 2026. The Trust also supports the European Girls' Maths Olympiad and provides sample problems and training resources for teachers and students.

Backed by partners such as Stripe, the Department of Education and Youth, Nebular and Susquehanna, the Irish Mathematical Trust delivers high-quality, nationwide programmes that inspire the next generation of mathematical talent.
