Traditional Irish Horse Association CLG

The Traditional Irish Horse Association (TIHA) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the conservation and development of the Traditional Irish Horse (TIH). Acting as Ireland's principal advocate for this historic, world-renowned breed, TIHA works to safeguard genetic diversity, protect key mare-lines and secure suitable stallions through a comprehensive national breeding and development plan.

A core service of the Association is its online directory, which offers a simple, searchable platform for locating reputable TIH breeders and producers across the country. In addition, TIHA provides extensive guidance on both breeding and buying, equipping prospective owners with the knowledge they need to source a Traditional Irish Horse with confidence. By promoting the breed to national and international stakeholders-including breeders, buyers, riders and sport organisations-TIHA ensures the TIH remains a vibrant presence in eventing, show jumping, hunting and showing for generations to come.
