Mueller & O’Connell is an award‑winning artisan bakery based in the historic town of Abbeyleix, County Laois. Since opening its doors in 2016 in the former town bank, the co‑owners Wellington and David have built a reputation for producing some of Ireland’s finest sourdough and fresh‑yeast breads, alongside a constantly changing selection of seasonal pastries.

The bakery offers eleven different breads – seven of which are handcrafted sourdough loaves – and a range of indulgent treats such as cruffins and fruit‑filled pastries that reflect the creativity of their bakers. In addition to its on‑site café partnership with Crac Coffee in Stradbally, Mueller & O’Connell supplies locally sourced foods as a proud member of Laois Taste, and provides a convenient online ordering service with nationwide delivery. Their Wholegrain Spelt Loaf earned a silver medal at the prestigious World Bread Awards, underscoring the quality and craftsmanship that customers across the country have come to expect.
