Boomtreebees Ltd

Boomtreebees Limited is a dedicated conservation organisation focused on safeguarding Ireland’s native honeybee, *Apis mellifera mellifera*. By creating semi‑natural habitats and raising public awareness, the company works to ensure this unique part of the island’s natural and cultural heritage can thrive despite the many pressures facing free‑living colonies today.

The core of Boomtreebees’ offering is its specially designed log hives, which closely mimic the tree‑cavity nests that wild honeybees naturally prefer. Two distinct hive designs are produced, allowing clients to select the most suitable option for a given landscape. In addition to supplying these natural beehives, Boomtreebees runs workshops and talks throughout the year on log‑hive construction, habitat creation and broader bee‑conservation topics, catering to beekeepers, landowners and anyone interested in supporting native pollinators.

Based in Westbrook, Buncrana, County Donegal, Boomtreebees serves the wider Irish community, inviting anyone who spots a wild colony—whether in a tree, roof or chimney—to get in touch and contribute to the preservation of the native honeybee.
