South Sligo Summer School CLG

South Sligo Summer School Company Limited by Guarantee operates the South Sligo Summer School, an annual traditional Irish music, song and dance festival held in Tubbercurry, County Sligo. Founded in 1987, the school was established to conserve and promote the rich local musical tradition, with special emphasis on the old Sligo style of playing. It offers a full programme of classes and workshops across instruments including fiddle, flute, button accordion, concertina, uilleann pipes, harp, whistle, banjo, guitar, bodhrán and mixed instruments for adults, as well as singing and lilting and sean-nós dance. The week-long event also features céilithe, concerts, recitals and lectures, and provides a platform for young emerging local musicians. The 2026 edition marks the school's 40th year.
