Atlantic Academy Limited operates as a Gaeltacht-based film and television production training company. It manages Film and TV Crew West, which serves as a hub for Fís Éireann Screen Ireland’s National Talent Academies initiative. The organisation aims to develop highly skilled production crew for the Irish film and TV sector by building talent and skills regionally. It provides skills development opportunities across all areas for below-the-line crew, delivering English and Irish language training programmes of international standards.

The company offers a wide range of training for new and existing crew members. This includes practical courses, boot camps, up-skilling sessions, master classes, and on-the-job training. The curriculum covers soft skills such as presentation and mentoring, alongside introductory courses for new entrants and mentorship opportunities. Established by Danú Media, the co-producers of TG4’s drama series Ros na Rún, Atlantic Academy operates from An Spidéal. It utilises a purpose-built TV drama studio set where the series is filmed. The company supports the growth of the film and tv sector across Ireland’s Western region, with a nationwide remit covering counties including Galway, Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Mayo, Donegal, Cavan and Monaghan.
