ORION Productions Limited is an Irish boutique film production company. It creates bold, diverse stories and collaborates with like-minded creatives to pursue artistic goals that transcend the ordinary. The company produces feature films, short films, music videos and web series, and is currently in post-production on its crime thriller, Swing Bout. This self-contained, Irish-authored feature film is written and directed by Maurice O’Carroll and produced by Sinéad O’Riordan. It stars a UK actress as a young boxer pressured to throw a high-profile fight, and has received positive reviews from The Guardian and won Best Picture at the P’Aladino D’Oro Sports Film Festival (2024). The film is available to buy or rent from Apple TV (IE/UK), YouTube and Prime Video (UK). The company’s founder holds an Honours Degree in Engineering (Electronic), an Associate Recital Diploma from LAMDA and a Post Graduate Diploma (Advanced Producing) from TU Dublin in association with Screen Ireland. The writer/director is a graduate of Screen Ireland’s Advanced Producers programme and has directed the Screen Ireland-funded short Conversations with my Dead Father, which earned an Aer Discovery Lingus nomination at the Dublin International Film Festival, won Best in Cork at Fastnet Film Festival 2022 and Best Director at the Beara Film Festival.
