The Grassroots Guild CLG

The Grassroots Guild Company Limited by Guarantee is a not‑for‑profit social enterprise dedicated to empowering individuals, community groups and businesses to restore nature in the places where they live and work. By sharing practical skills and knowledge, the Guild helps people turn everyday spaces—gardens, balconies, yards and workplace grounds—into thriving habitats for wildlife.

Their core offering centres on hands‑on DIY kits, most notably the seasonal Minipond kits, which contain every component and a clear guide needed to build a miniature freshwater habitat suitable for an average garden or balcony. Complementary workshops provide the theory and step‑by‑step training to complete these projects, while walks and talks—delivered either in person or virtually—cater to groups, organisations and corporate teams, ranging from lunchtime learning sessions to guided biodiversity walks.

Founded in Dublin by Gobnait Ní Néill, the Guild draws on experience from successful community projects across the capital and works closely with local partners such as the Dublin South City Partnership and Dublin City Council Enterprise Office. Their approachable, expert‑led programmes are designed to give participants the confidence and encouragement to make a tangible, positive impact on local biodiversity.
