Thriveabetes CLG

Thriveabetes Company Limited by Guarantee is a volunteer‑run organisation dedicated to supporting people living with, or affected by, type 1 diabetes across Ireland. All of its events, resources and advocacy work are created and delivered by individuals who themselves have type 1 diabetes, ensuring that the information and inspiration offered is both authentic and highly relevant.

The core of Thriveabetes’ activity is its annual conferences, which bring together patients, families and healthcare professionals for a day of education, peer support and motivation. In addition to the flagship conference, the group provides a comprehensive “Information and Support” hub covering diabetes courses, insulin‑pump technology, continuous glucose monitoring sensors and links to local peer‑support groups. Their blog and news section keeps the community up‑to‑date with the latest research, policy changes – such as the HSE’s recommendation that all adults with type 1 diabetes be offered CGMs – and personal stories from members of the Thriveabetes network.

By fostering a welcoming, volunteer‑led community, Thriveabetes empowers people with type 1 diabetes to share experiences, access up‑to‑date resources and thrive together.
