O Cualann Regional DAC

Ó Cualann is a not‑for‑profit Approved Housing Body with charitable status that has devised a replicable model for truly affordable housing across Ireland. By combining mixed‑income, co‑operative and sustainable design, the organisation delivers permanently affordable homes that are both cheap to buy and inexpensive to run. Every development meets a minimum A2 energy rating and is underpinned by local sustainability partnerships, ensuring low running costs for residents and a reduced environmental footprint.

The Ó Cualann model is built around three core strands and is designed to be scaled in partnership with local authorities, state agencies, community‑led housing groups and other approved housing bodies. Through this collaborative approach the company creates mixed‑tenure, fully integrated communities, offering a pipeline of new developments for the next three years that will provide hundreds of families with secure, affordable homes. Their highly‑skilled management team and volunteer board are dedicated to fostering a more just society by making homeownership and secure rental options attainable for those who struggle to find suitable accommodation on the open market.
