Monaghan Waldorf School CLG

Monaghan Waldorf School Company Limited by Guarantee runs Cygnet’s Nest, a community pre‑school, and an alternative primary school that deliver Waldorf‑based education in the heart of County Monaghan. Born from a parents’ playgroup in 2022, the school now occupies the tranquil Wetlands site in Ballybay, offering a nurturing environment where children are encouraged to develop at their own natural pace through hands‑on, creative learning.

The school provides a full kindergarten (early childhood care and education) programme alongside a primary curriculum that follows the Waldorf philosophy, prioritising imagination, artistic expression and experiential activity over rigid academic pressure. Enrolment is open to families seeking a holistic, developmentally‑appropriate approach, with dedicated resources such as term‑date calendars, fee tables and parent statements to support transparent communication.

By fostering a love of learning that endures throughout life, Monaghan Waldorf School serves the local community and families who value an education that respects each child’s individual growth and the wider natural world.
