Company Description

Wicklow Rapid Response is a volunteer‑run charitable organisation based in Dunlavin, County Wicklow. Its core mission is to promote life, reduce suffering and enhance patient wellbeing by equipping off‑duty pre‑hospital practitioners with essential life‑saving tools such as automated external defibrillators and advanced airway equipment. By supplying these resources, the charity enables EMTs, paramedics, advanced paramedics and suitably trained doctors to intervene promptly when they are called out by the National Ambulance Service.

The service operates a volunteer‑led pre‑hospital emergency care network, dispatching qualified practitioners to the most seriously ill or injured patients. Responders attend a wide range of emergencies—including cardiac arrest, chest pain, choking, strokes and road‑traffic collisions—where early treatment can dramatically improve outcomes and shorten hospital stays. Currently, around thirty dedicated volunteers are active in the community, with plans to expand as further funding for equipment becomes available.

Funded entirely by the generosity of supporters, Wicklow Rapid Response has no paid staff; all committee members and trustees serve voluntarily. Donations are channelled directly to the charity, ensuring every contribution bolsters its life‑saving work.
