Córas Iompair na Bponcán Teoranta (CIÉ) is Ireland’s largest public‑transport provider, delivering an integrated network of rail, bus and coach services across the island. With more than 12,000 staff, the CIÉ Group moved 350 million passengers in 2023, operating Dublin Bus in the capital, Bus Éireann on provincial routes and in cities such as Cork, Limerick and Galway, and Iarnród Éireann, which runs the national rail system including the cross‑border Enterprise service and Rosslare Harbour.

Beyond core transport, CIÉ manages a substantial property portfolio, developing transit‑oriented sites such as the ambitious Heuston Masterplan in Dublin, and a retail network situated within its stations. The Group is also a leader in sustainability, implementing a low‑carbon, circular business model that underpins its ambition to reduce emissions from the transport sector.

Through close collaboration with the Department of Transport, the National Transport Authority and other stakeholders, CIÉ continues to invest heavily – €390 million in capital this year – to expand and modernise services, ensuring reliable, accessible travel for commuters, tourists and communities throughout Ireland.
