Castlecomer Demesne Company CLG

Castlecomer Demesne Company Limited by Guarantee runs Castlecomer Discovery Park, a not-for-profit social community enterprise set within 80 acres of former Wandesforde Estate woodland and lakes in Castlecomer. Since opening to the public in 2007, the park has evolved from a coal-mining exhibition and visitor centre into a vibrant hub offering a wide range of recreational, cultural and educational experiences for families, schools and groups.

The park's adventure portfolio includes Ireland's longest zip-line, a three-level Skywalk, obstacle and climbing courses, archery and a variety of themed workshops for children and teens. In addition, the on-site Design Craft Studios and Coal-Mining Exhibition provide hands-on learning about the region's industrial heritage. All activities are operated by a trained, friendly team and are available year-round for walkers, with group bookings required for the adventure attractions.

As a social enterprise, all income - from the car park, activity fees and events - is reinvested into the park's programmes, supporting community wellbeing, education and the continued development of Castlecomer's natural and cultural assets.
