Castlerahan Community Development CLG

Castlerahan Community Development Company Limited by Guarantee operates Castlerahan Community Centre, a volunteer-run facility in rural County Cavan, situated between Ballyjamesduff and Oldcastle with views of Lough Sheelin and Lough Ramor. The centre aims to provide the local community with as many services as possible, having grown from an initial playing field, nature walk and community hall into a broader range of facilities. These include a professionally maintained playing pitch available for bookings and used by local GAA and soccer clubs as well as some county teams, a large hall or meeting room of approximately 9m by 16m equipped with a projector for community group meetings, presentations and classes such as Irish dancing, and a remote working hub offering four spaces with desks, chairs, free Wi-Fi and toilet access. The site offers scenic views, including of the megalithic cairns at Loughcrew, and an illuminated walkway during winter evenings. The centre can cater for various events, and is run by a local volunteer group.
