Senior Citizens Helpline Company CLG

Senior Citizens Helpline Company Limited By Guarantee operates SeniorLine, a confidential listening service dedicated to older people across Ireland. Staffed entirely by trained older volunteers, the helpline offers a friendly, non-judgemental ear for anyone feeling lonely, worried, or simply in need of a conversation. Calls are answered daily from 10 am to 10 pm, ensuring that support is always within reach.

Volunteers receive a comprehensive training programme that covers active listening, handling sensitive issues and providing up-to-date advice on matters such as COVID-19 guidance. In addition to emotional support, SeniorLine can direct callers to the appropriate public services - for example, helping a pension-seeker locate the correct department - while always remaining a safe space for personal concerns. The service's emphasis on empathy, confidentiality and peer-to-peer connection makes it a vital resource for Ireland's third-age community.
