BEHAL, operating as Ballymacarbry Elders Housing Association Ltd., is a registered charity in Ireland that provides quality, age-friendly, sustainable homes for older people in the local community. Its aim is to enable residents to continue living independently for as long as possible. The housing development, for those over 55, consists of single-storey, semi-detached one and two-bedroom terrace houses in three blocks, each with an entrance hall, kitchen/living room, two bedrooms, a walk-in shower, and front and back gardens. The homes are well insulated with a BER rating of A3. Adjoining the houses is the Ballymacarbry Community Centre, with a library open to residents daily.
