Lissycasey Community CLG

Lissycasey Community Company Limited By Guarantee operates the Lissycasey Group Water Scheme, a community-run water supply service for households and businesses in the Lissycasey area and surrounding villages such as Ballynacally and Cranny. As a not-for-profit organisation, it is responsible for the collection of water-service contributions, the distribution of water to members, and the ongoing monitoring of water quality to meet the EU Drinking Water Directive.

Key activities include regular monthly testing by BHP Laboratories, spot-checks by the Clare County Council Laboratory, and the publication of results that confirm compliance for parameters such as E.coli, total coliforms, nitrates, iron and turbidity. The company also manages the administrative side of the scheme - organising annual general meetings, communicating updates (including COVID-19 guidance), and coordinating collection points and times for members' invoices.

Rooted in the Lissycasey community, the scheme is governed by an elected committee that ensures transparent, member-focused service and maintains a reliable, safe water supply for the local area.
