Hungry Horse Outside CLG

Hungry Horse Outside is an Irish equine rescue charity founded in 2011 in response to the nation's growing equine crisis. As one of the country's largest horse- and pony-rescues, the organisation works closely with the public, the Department of Agriculture, local authorities and the Gardai to intervene when horses and ponies are neglected, unwanted or stray. On average, around 150 equines receive care each year, with many undergoing extensive rehabilitation before being re-homed through the charity's adoption programme.

Beyond its core equine work, Hungry Horse Outside also supports the Longford Dog Shelter by sponsoring the spaying and neutering of all resident dogs and covering travel costs to other rescues in Ireland and the United Kingdom, helping break the cycle of over-breeding. The charity relies on grants, fundraising and public generosity to meet its annual operating costs of roughly €400,000, and welcomes donations that enable it to continue saving and re-homing vulnerable animals across Ireland.
