Farmgate Veterinary Group Ltd

FarmGate Veterinary Group is a specialist, six‑vet practice dedicated to the health and productivity of farm‑animal and equine herds across East Galway. As an XLVet member practice, it upholds the motto “Excellence in Practice”, drawing on a legacy that began in the 1960s with the original surgeries of Michael Cogavin MRCVS and Joe Connolly MRCVS. The team provides a comprehensive, all‑inclusive service to farmers, ranging from routine clinical calls and herd‑health planning to TB testing, mastitis control programmes, fertility work, scanning, and equine stud support.

Key specialisations include a 24‑hour emergency service staffed by a dedicated large‑animal team, a mobile hoof‑trimming crate for on‑farm hoof care, and a full suite of laboratory and knowledge‑transfer services. Clients also benefit from an online farm shop that supplies veterinary products following a vet’s consultation.

Based in Mountbellew, Co. Galway, with a second clinic operating twice daily in Ahascragh, Ballinasloe, FarmGate Veterinary Group combines technical expertise with a friendly, approachable team, ensuring that the agri‑food industry receives the highest standard of veterinary care.
