Askamore Muintir Na Tire Community Project CLG

Askamore Muintir Na Tire Community Project Company Limited by Guarantee operates the Askamore Community Centre, a vibrant hub for residents of Askamore, Co Wexford. The organisation manages the community hall and activity centre, providing a welcoming space for cultural, educational and recreational events. From art exhibitions featuring local talent - including a recent showcase opened by renowned jazz and blues singer Mary Coughlan - to heritage evenings with the North Wexford Historical Society, the centre nurtures creativity and preserves local history.

In addition to hosting regular social gatherings such as quizzes, dances and the annual "Big Breakfast", the council runs a programme of evening courses covering herbal medicine, weaving, DIY, furniture restoration and flower arranging. It also champions outdoor recreation, having secured funding to develop a new car-park and picnic facilities for the popular Askamore walking trails. By offering affordable venue hire, community-led projects and a calendar of inclusive activities, Askamore Muintir Na Tire helps strengthen social ties and enrich the quality of life for people across the surrounding countryside.
