Scarteen Hunt Company Limited by Guarantee is a family‑run equestrian organisation centred on the historic Scarteen House, the Ryan family home since the 1750s. Nestled in the heart of the Golden Vale on the Limerick/Tipperary border, the estate has evolved into a first‑class competition and training venue recognised throughout the Irish and international hunting and eventing communities.

The company specialises in three core areas. Firstly, the Scarteen Hunt maintains the world‑renowned Black and Tan hounds, a lineage that has remained in the Ryan family for over 350 years and draws visitors from across the globe. Secondly, Sue and Chris Ryan oversee a thriving eventing programme, breeding and developing young event horses since 1990 and providing a purpose‑built Derby track that hosts the annual Future Event Horse League Qualifier, alongside a calendar of clinics and competitions. Finally, the estate offers hospitality and educational experiences linked to traditional hunting, ensuring that both participants and spectators enjoy a genuine taste of Irish countryside heritage.
