Donegal Donkey Sanctuary CLG

Donegal Donkey Sanctuary Company Limited by Guarantee is a charitable sanctuary dedicated to the rescue, care and rehabilitation of donkeys in County Donegal. The organisation provides a safe, permanent home for rescued donkeys, offering them daily husbandry, veterinary attention and the companionship of fellow herd‑mates. While the sanctuary has been closed to visitors for two years, its welfare work has continued behind the scenes, and it is now preparing to welcome the public again.

To sustain its vital work, the sanctuary runs a range of fundraising initiatives. Supporters can purchase a Christmas card pack, enter the annual Christmas wreath raffle, or sponsor an individual donkey, with all proceeds directed to feed and medical costs. A Go Fund Me campaign highlights the urgent need for additional resources amid post‑pandemic and economic pressures. By combining public education, visitor experiences and community‑driven fundraising, Donegal Donkey Sanctuary ensures that its precious residents receive the lifelong care they deserve.
