The 1st Port of Galway Sea Scouts Company Limited by Guarantee is the sole Sea‑Scouting organisation operating in Galway City. Rooted in a nautical tradition that stretches back more than a century, the group offers young people a youth‑led environment where they can develop practical seamanship, leadership and life‑skills through hands‑on adventure on both land and water. As a recognised member of Scouting Ireland, the Sea Scouts welcome members from ages six to twenty‑six, providing age‑appropriate programmes that encourage participants to plan their own outings, take charge of activities and build confidence that lasts a lifetime.

The programme spans a wide range of experiences – from introductory sailing and water safety for the youngest cohort to advanced navigation, crew management and coastal expeditions for older teens and young adults. In addition to regular training, the Sea Scouts run a dedicated store for equipment and apparel, and maintain robust standard operating procedures to ensure safety and quality.
