Conneely Wessels Architects Ltd

Conneely Wessels Architects Limited is a boutique architectural practice that creates thoughtfully designed, context‑sensitive buildings across the south of Ireland. Drawing on a deep understanding of local character, the studio delivers bespoke residential projects, extensions and small‑scale public interventions that blend contemporary aesthetics with the vernacular landscape.

The firm’s portfolio showcases a range of specialisations, from compact urban dwellings such as the Skinny House in Kinsale to striking material‑led commissions like the Weathered Steel House in Connemara. Their work often explores the relationship between architecture and its setting, evident in projects such as the Pavilion in the Landscape at Ringenane and the Garden Called Paradise in Kinsale. Extensions, wrap‑around additions and adaptive re‑uses – for example the transformation of the historic Blacks of Kinsale Brewery and Distillery – demonstrate their skill in enhancing existing structures while respecting heritage.

Rooted in Kinsale, County Cork, Conneely Wessels Architects serves private homeowners, developers and heritage bodies who seek a collaborative, design‑led approach that respects place, materiality and the everyday experience of living spaces.
