Company Description

Urlingford Town Team Company Limited by Guarantee is a voluntary community group established in June 2021. It operates in conjunction with Kilkenny County Council to develop Urlingford into a desirable place to live, work, and visit. The organisation was formally set up in June 2022 following online workshops conducted by the council and Turley Consultants in May 2021. These workshops aimed to produce a Town Plan to address rural degeneration and guide local development.

The group’s vision is to create an attractive, safe, prosperous, inclusive, respectful, and empowering community. This approach, known as A.S.P.I.R.E., is supported by the Masterplan for Urlingford adopted by Kilkenny County Council in September 2023. Urlingford serves as a pathfinder for County Kilkenny under the Government’s Town Centre First Policy. The team focuses on regenerating the town through specific initiatives designed to enhance local facilities and attract new residents.

Key projects include restoring the Community Centre to serve as a focal point for generations, providing recreational walking trails such as the Islands Loop, and establishing a high-quality remote working hub. The organisation welcomes new members and community support to deliver its strategy. It relies on active participation and fundraising to achieve its goals and improve the town’s vibrancy and prosperity for all residents and visitors.
