The Open Community CLG

The Open Community CLG (Company No. 739429) is a not‑for‑profit organisation dedicated to fostering community‑led welcome for refugees throughout Ireland. By coordinating community sponsorship, the charity enables ordinary people from across the country to provide safe, sustainable settlement for families and individuals fleeing conflict. Their approach is built on shared humanity, offering a practical, human‑to‑human way for volunteers to make a tangible difference in the lives of newcomers.

The Open Community delivers a suite of services designed to support both sponsors and refugees. Their Sponsorship Support Bank supplies guidance and resources, while a comprehensive Sponsorship FAQ, regional support teams and interactive learning programmes equip volunteers with the knowledge they need to host families effectively. In addition, the organisation runs hosting initiatives, shares news updates and celebrates success stories that illustrate the transformative impact of community sponsorship.

Through these endeavours, The Open Community serves Irish citizens eager to welcome refugees and the refugees themselves, creating safe, trusting environments where new residents can rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
