PANS PANDAS Foundation Ireland is a non-profit organisation raising awareness for children, adults and families affected by PANS and PANDAS. The organisation explains that PANS (Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome) and PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections) are conditions causing neuropsychiatric symptoms, often challenging to diagnose and treat. PANS is defined by the onset of obsessive-compulsive disorder or severe eating restrictions alongside additional symptoms such as anxiety, mood swings, and aggression. PANDAS is a subset linked to streptococcal infections, characterised by sudden onset of OCD or tic disorders. The foundation serves children, adolescents, and affected adults across Ireland.
