Tailte Tours CLG

Táilte Tours CLG is a volunteer‑run, non‑profit organisation dedicated to celebrating and preserving Ireland’s rich railway heritage. Guided by a board of experienced enthusiasts – Niall Kelly, Alex Richardson, David Walsh and Wesley Molloy – the group organises railway‑themed events and tours that showcase the country’s historic lines, museums and heritage railways. Since its inaugural railtour weekend in August 2022, Táilte Tours has operated a variety of rail and bus excursions from Dublin and Cork to destinations such as Tralee, Dromod, Donegal, Waterford, Leitrim, Galway, Roscommon, Cavan, Kerry and Down, offering both rail‑enthusiasts and the wider public a chance to experience travel by train in a uniquely Irish setting.

Beyond the journeys themselves, the charity raises funds for heritage projects, supplying enamel badges that have helped the Cavan & Leitrim Railway Museum, Downpatrick & County Down Railway, County Donegal Railway Heritage Centre and Stradbally Woodland Railway each generate up to €2 000 at no cost. Proceeds are either donated to these groups or reinvested in Táilte Tours’ own educational and promotional activities, ensuring the continued growth of Ireland’s voluntary railway network.
