Sterile Barrier Association (SBA) is a European trade association for manufacturers, suppliers and responsible users of sterile barrier systems (SBS), medical packaging materials and related services, equipment and accessories for the healthcare industry. The association promotes best practices and provides education in the use of sterile barrier systems, with a focus on protecting the patient and managing the risk of infection. It supports members with legislation and standardisation, promotes the interests of the industry, drives sustainable practices across the healthcare packaging industry, and aims to build an accurate market picture and evidence base for the sector. SBA provides guidance material to help healthcare professionals and manufacturers understand SBS labelling, good practice and handling techniques. The association organises conferences and events, collaborates with industry organisations, and is registered in Ireland.
