Shankill Bowling Club CLG

Shankill Bowling Club is a club formed for the social and competitive enjoyment of both indoor and outdoor lawn bowling. Established in 1994, it began as an indoor bowls club and added an outdoor section in 2000, with an all-weather surface enabling year-round play. In 2013, a purpose-built clubhouse united all activities on one site, allowing three mats for indoor play and a six-rink outdoor green. Membership is open to adults, men and women equally, with over 80 members, and beginners are particularly welcomed. The club runs regular in-house competitions, mostly mixed gender, and competes in tournaments organised by the Irish Lawn Bowls Association. It also supports local charities, facilitates winter play for clubs without all-weather rinks, and provides weekly access for young people with special needs. Annual membership costs €220, with club bowls available for new members in their first year.
