Sligo Traveller Support Group (STSG) is a community-driven organisation founded in 2001 through a partnership of Traveller and settled residents in the Sligo area. As a company limited by guarantee, STSG exists to give a clear, collective voice to the local Traveller community, championing their rights and aspirations.
The group focuses on key areas that affect everyday life for Travellers - securing suitable accommodation, improving access to education and employment, and providing dedicated youth and childcare support. In addition, STSG works actively to challenge prejudice, discrimination and racism, fostering greater understanding and inclusion within the wider community.
Through advocacy, advice and practical assistance, STSG helps Travellers navigate the challenges they face while promoting a more equitable society for all. Its collaborative approach reflects a commitment to partnership, empowerment and lasting positive change in Sligo and beyond.
