Louth Nature Trust CLG

Louth Nature Trust Company Limited By Guarantee is a charitable organisation dedicated to safeguarding the natural heritage of County Louth. Since its founding in 2008, the Trust has focused on protecting the county's biodiversity, acquiring and managing sites of conservation interest, and promoting nature-conservation initiatives throughout the region.

A flagship endeavour is the Little Tern Conservation Project at Baltray, where the Trust oversees the nesting season each spring and provides regular updates via the warden's blog. In addition to this high-profile work, the Trust collaborates with professional wardens, volunteers, Louth County Council, the Heritage Council, the National Parks and Wildlife Service, Birdwatch Ireland and the wider public to ensure the long-term survival of vulnerable species and habitats.

Guided by a board of local trustees, Louth Nature Trust continues to champion community-led stewardship of the environment, offering expertise, hands-on management and advocacy to preserve Louth's unique wildlife for future generations.
