Association of Pet Dog Trainers Ireland CLG

The Association of Pet Dog Trainers Ireland (APDTI) is a national professional body that brings together certified dog-training instructors from across the island. Built on a foundation of knowledge and driven by kindness, the association champions humane, reward-based training that eschews any aversive techniques. Every member undergoes a rigorous assessment, adheres to a transparent Code of Conduct and commits to ongoing continuing professional development, ensuring owners receive guidance that is both evidence-led and ethically sound.

APDTI offers a suite of services for dog owners and trainers alike. Through its "Find a Trainer" directory, clients can connect with vetted professionals specialising in puppy socialisation, adult-dog training and behavioural advice. The organisation also supplies free resources - from body-language guides to senior-dog care tips - and hosts regular events and CPD workshops to keep members at the forefront of canine science. By fostering a community of ethically minded trainers, APDTI raises the standard of dog training throughout Ireland.
