Marathon Kids Ireland delivers an inspiring eight‑week running programme specially designed for 5th‑ and 6th‑class pupils in primary schools across Fingal and Dublin City. Over the course of the scheme, children take part in four lively, age‑appropriate running sessions each week, gradually building the stamina and confidence needed to complete their very first marathon. The curriculum blends physical activity with lessons on the mental and social benefits of exercise, teamwork, goal‑setting and perseverance, fostering healthy habits that can last a lifetime.

The highlight of the programme is a celebratory finish‑line event where each participant runs the final mile and officially completes the marathon at the National Sports Campus in Dublin 15 (or the DCU Morton Stadium in Santry, depending on the partnership). This memorable occasion not only recognises the children’s achievement but also brings together schools, families and local supporters in a festive atmosphere.
