Ennis Road CFR CLG

Ennis Road CFR is a volunteer-led community response group based in the Ennis Road area of the north side of Limerick city. It works in conjunction with the National Ambulance Service to respond to specific 112/999 calls involving choking, heart attack, cardiac arrest and stroke emergencies. Volunteers are locally based and professionally trained, and are notified by the National Ambulance Service at the same time as an ambulance when such incidents occur in the area. Responders attend the scene, initiate treatment, and aim to reduce the time a patient waits for initial, potentially life-saving care. They carry emergency medical supply bags including Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) and are trained in AED use and basic first aid. The group was established in 2018 by two local residents who worked with the National Ambulance Service to recruit and train volunteers. It is a registered charity.
