Fairplé Music

FairPlé Music is a Dublin-based charitable organisation dedicated to achieving gender balance within Irish traditional and folk music. By championing equal opportunity across production, performance, promotion and development, FairPlé works to make the scene a safer, more inclusive space for women and all participants.

The organisation's core activities include advocacy, policy development and the provision of practical resources. FairPlé produces reports on its work, maintains an anti-harassment policy, and offers guidance for anyone who has experienced sexual assault, harassment or coercion. It also collaborates with the Oireachtas Joint Committee, presenting recommendations for a "Safe and Respectful Working Environment for the Arts". Through these initiatives, FairPlé supports musicians, event organisers and cultural institutions in creating respectful, balanced environments.

Rooted in the Irish music community, FairPlé continues to drive change across the island, fostering a culture where talent can thrive without fear of discrimination or abuse.
