Operation Walk Ireland CLG

Operation Walk Ireland Company Limited by Guarantee provides hip and knee replacement surgeries in Vietnam, focusing on improving patients’ quality of life through expert surgical care. The organisation works at ground level to educate Vietnamese surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses and physiotherapists about hip and knee joint replacement surgery. Since 2016, the group has travelled to Hanoi, Vietnam, with its 2024 trip being its sixth mission. Each mission includes orthopaedic surgeons, anaesthetists, medical doctors, scrub nurses, anaesthetic nurses, recovery nurses, ward nurses, physiotherapists, CSSD staff, administrators, general helpers and translators, representing forty-one medical organisations from Ireland, Australia, the USA, Poland and the UK. The organisation is self-funded, with each member paying a minimum of €2,250 to travel on a mission. It is a registered charity with charity number 20206875 and welcomes donations and corporate sponsorship.
