Company Description
Kildare Wildlife Rescue is a volunteer‑run charity dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of injured, sick and orphaned wildlife across Kildare and the wider region. With a team of more than 100 committed volunteers, the organisation provides rapid, species‑specific advice and hands‑on care, aiming to minimise suffering and return every animal to its natural habitat.
The rescue service operates 7 days a week, responding to emergency reports via a dedicated email address. Volunteers assess each case, offering guidance on safe handling, containment and, where appropriate, short‑term feeding. Larger or predatory species such as herons, gannets, swans, badgers and foxes are dealt with by trained responders equipped with specialised tools. Once rescued, wildlife are cared for at the Kildare Town centre and in licensed foster homes throughout Kildare, Dublin and Meath, where 24/7 veterinary support and purpose‑built enclosures ensure high standards of hygiene and welfare.
In addition to direct animal care, Kildare Wildlife Rescue welcomes donations and volunteers, providing full training for those who wish to assist with animal care, transport or outreach. Every contribution helps sustain the critical work that protects Ireland’s wildlife for today and tomorrow.
