Clonakilty Friends of Asylum Seekers CLG

Clonakilty Friends of Asylum Seekers (CFOAS) is a registered charity, core funded by the HSE, that has been providing friendship and a broad range of supports to families seeking International Protection who are living in Clonakilty Lodge Direct Provision Centre since 2002. The group has an experienced team of facilitators and volunteers committed to making the lives of those living in the centre as easy as possible during their time in Clonakilty. The charity provides information on living in Clonakilty and Ireland, support with the asylum process, social welfare entitlements, housing supports, and support with employment. It also runs projects and initiatives, including a collaboration with UCC Failte Refugee Society and The Glucksman in March 2023. In June 2023, the charity was awarded a grant of €9,000 by the RTE Toy Show Appeal. The organisation welcomes contact from those needing support or wishing to volunteer.
