Ward Union Hunt CLG

The Ward Union Hunt Limited by Guarantee is a traditional Irish hunting organisation that brings together riders, hounds, horses and the wider community for a full calendar of equestrian and countryside events. Based in Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath, the Hunt maintains a thriving deer herd, a well‑trained pack of hounds and a stable of horses, and organises the annual Hunt Ball, point‑to‑point meetings, hunter trials and a variety of charity functions.

A distinctive feature of the club is its Knackery Service, a subsidised collection facility for fallen stock that supports local farmers. Operating two Department of Agriculture‑licensed vehicles, the Hunt gathers livestock daily, keeping meticulous, computerised records that are regularly inspected by the licensing authority.

In addition to the main hunting activities, the Ward Union Hunt runs children’s meets, ladies’ meets and a range of community‑focused events, fostering a welcoming environment for families and newcomers alike. As a member of the Hunting Association of Ireland, the Irish Master of Foxhounds Association and the Irish Foot‑Harriers Association, the Hunt upholds the highest standards of tradition, safety and stewardship of the Irish countryside.
